Balancing motherhood and working is not always an easy job! This week I have training for work in ORLANDO! The thought of leaving my 5month old for a week didn't not sit well with me; let alone the almost impossible task of leaving enough milk for an entire week. So Dreux is currently on her first business trip with Mommie! Sunday night Dreux, my aunt and I hopped on a plane and headed to Florida. My company has been pretty accommodating when it comes to bringing her along. I got out of rooming with another trainee so that my aunt and daughter could accompany me at no additional cost.
It was such a load off knowing that I didn't have to find a sitter for the entire week. However once I got to Florida I ran into a few others problems...
Being that Dreux is still a 90% exclusively breast-fed baby (with the occasion of a bowl of oatmeal every now and then) I had to bring the frozen bags I haD stored. Traveling with about 8bags of breast milk wasn't the hard part, it was finding a cold place to store them all once we arrived at the hotel! After a few trips to ice machine and three huge zip lock bags later, my aunt had created ice packs n stuffed the frozen storage bags in them! 12hours later and they are still frozen!!
And although I can't enjoy an hour lunch like everyone else because I'm rushing back to the room to pump and/or feed on my break, my 20min lunch is well worth having her here with me!
